Dead dogs found in ditch near Budbrooke
TWO dead dogs have been found dumped in a discarded wooden kennel in a ditch near Budbrooke.
The disturbing discovery was made at the weekend by a distressed member of the public in a country lane behind a Shell petrol station.
The dogs were both adult, tan coloured lurchers - one was male, the other female.
There were no obvious injuries which would explain their deaths but one was bleeding from the mouth.
Rachel Hayward, an inspector for the RSPCA said: “I would urge anyone that recognises these dogs to please contact me. “This was a particularly upsetting incident to deal with, and I do suspect foul play, but at this stage I am keeping an open mind and would like to hear from anyone who thinks they can help unravel the mystery.
“Maybe you know someone who owned two tan lurcher dogs fitting this description and they have recently disappeared?
“Or maybe someone was witnessed in the area with a wooden dog kennel?”
The RSPCA provided an image of the dead dogs but the Courier has chosen not to publish it as it could be too distressing for some.
Calls can be made to the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
