Champagne teas and possibly tattoos in Kenilworth shop premises
CHAMPAGNE teas could be served up on Warwick Road, Kenilworth, if a planning application to change a building from retail to cafe/restaurant use gets the go-ahead.
Next door could also be turned into a tattoo studio if initial inquiries come to fruition.
Temptations Cafe Tea Rooms, of Coventry, wants to set up shop in the former Linda Harper’s Sewing & Knitting Centre, diagonally opposite Sainsbury’s.
In the application it states “use would also include the serving of Champagne teas.”
And in documents written by senior planning officers shown on Warwick District Council’s website, it makes note of a “potential tattoo studio” but said no planning application had been made.
Linda Harper moved her fabrics and haberdashery business to just down Warwick Road and set up in the former Planet Granite shop last month.
She was at her former premises for around ten years and at one time shared it with her daughter’s boutique.
The businesswoman said: “I am doing fine here in the new premises.”
Speaking of the old shop, she said: “When the boutique closed it became too big for me.”
