The towns will go up against neighbours in Stratford, as well as Gloucester and Shrewsbury in the West Midlands category of the competition to find the latest town to be immortalised by the famous trading game.

Only one town can win the contest for a specially-made board game, which will see 22 properties tailored to the chosen town.

The winner will mainly be decided by a public vote, although judges will also be looking into the landmarks in each town and also how much pride local residents have in their areas.

Customised boards have already been made for many counties, cities and towns in the UK and now Monopoly’s owners, Winning Moves, want to add more names to list.

Public votes can be cast via [email protected] or by post to Monopoly West Midlands, Winning Moves UK, 7 Praed Street, London W2 1NP

Polls close at midnight on February 29 and the wining location will be announced in the spring.
