Kenilworth Castle was named as one of the top 50 days out in the UK as it prepares for a summer of tourism.
The historic castle was listed as one of the best places to visit in the Midlands by the Telegraph travel guide.
And English Heritage’s bank holiday weekend of medieval mayhem helped secure this status as visitors piled in to enjoy activities over three days.
Families were able to step back in time and enjoy the life of a medieval castle court with dancing, archery, battle training and tomfoolery.
The castle’s new viewing tower will open later this year, and there are ongoing plans to increase tourism links between the castle and the town centre, and a shuttle bus is now running for the summer.
