Kenilworth’s ‘welcome to the town’ sign is in pieces after a car lost control on the road and hurtled into it.
The sign, which is situated on the left hand side of the road just off the A452 roundabout was mounted on a brick wall structure.
It was almost entirely been demolished and has now been cordoned off for safety.
It is understood that noone was seriously hurt when the car lost control, but that the vehicle involved suffered significant damage.
The sign will be repaired by Warwick District Council.
The brick structure is responsibility of Kenilworth Town Council who will now look into repairs or a replacement for the long standing structure which welcomes people into the town.
