A wristband appeal to build support for a teenager with rare bone cancer has spread to gain celebrity recognition.
The Support Milan’s Third Battle campaign hopes to bring in messages of love and friendship for Milan Patel who is fighting cancer for the third time.
Started by the Wardens club where the Kenilworth School pupil plays football, the campaign has sold over 1,500 purple wristbands and raised over £1,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
It has also seen messages and pictures of the bands being sent in from players across the UK. Players backing the campaign through Twitter include Premiership footballers Ben Foster and Joleen Lescott as well as former player and manager Peter Reid.
Milan was also given a day out at his favourite club Arsenal after his story made it into the match programme.
