Kenilworth’s new French Patisserie has been the subject of confusion after a shock Easter closure amid alleged rows over pay with management.
Patisserie du Chateau in High Street, which opened just months ago, was not open on Tuesday morning.
A hand-written sign in the window written by an unhappy member of staff called Roman claimed that he and other employees had not been paid for the past four weeks’ work and as a result would not continue in the shop.
He stated that his bosses were in Croatia, and wished all customers a Happy Easter.
Later that day, the sign was removed from the window but the shop remained closed.
Owners of the bakery could not be reached for comment on the matter.
The shop was set up as a third branch of Comme-ci,Comme-ça but both cafes in Leamington closed this year.
