Diners at Seasons Restaurant in Leamington took a double-take when they celebrated St Patrick’s weekend at the restaurant recently.

Waitress Tara Hart, 18, donned her Irish dancing costume and shoes and led a group youngsters from Leamington’s Connelly School, the Turley School in Coventry and the Carey Academy in Birmingham.

The musical accompaniment was by children from the Comhaltas Irish Music Group in Leamington.

The occasion served as a timely dress rehearsal for Tara, of Sydenham, who will take part in the World Irish Dancing Championships in London at Easter.

Andrew Iredale, co-owner of Seasons in Warwick Street, said: “Our menu featured a host of traditional Irish dishes but the icing on the cake, so to speak, was the performance of tara and the youngsters who were all given a richly deserved round of applause.”
