Smokers in Warwickshire intent on kicking the habit as a new year’s resolution can enter a competition which could land them with one of several prizes.
Warwickshire County Council is launching the ‘eX smoker factor’ game on New Year’s Day in which wannabe quitters can submit their blog posts or video diaries that chart their progress.
Prizes include family tickets for Upton House and Charlecote Park, a family voucher for Ash End House Children’s Farm, four months’ membership to Lea Marston Hotel health club, a mid-week four ball at Maxstoke Park Golf club, tickets to Warwick Castle and afternoon tea for two at Hathaway Tea Rooms in Stratford.
County councillor Bob Stevens said: “As a council, we are committed to encouraging as many people as possible in Warwickshire to give up smoking.
“This competition will help in two ways. Firstly by providing people with even more incentive and support to try and stop smoking. Secondly, by sharing the giving up experience, this will motivate others to join in and try to give up too.”
The competition closes on February 28 and the winning blogs/videos will used to promote National No Smoking Day in Warwickshire (subject to consent)
