Growers in Burton Green have been out showing off a summer of hard work at the 7th annual produce show.
Held at the community village hall last Sunday, the day was hailed as a success with over 60 adults and 15 children through the doors on the day.
And the crowds entered in to 95 different classes in categories for Fruit, Flowers, Photography, Cookery, Eggs, Preserves and a Cookery as well as an Art section for children.
Organisers from the Hall Committee said they were “inundated with entries” for the ‘longest marrow’ and the Mens Cookery sections, with entries for Fruit Cake and Jam Tarts categories also well supported.
One organiser said: “It has been a good year for fruit and vegetables and unusual items such as petite pan squash, grapes and figs were entered.
“The children’s seed tray miniature garden raised a smile this year as one entry was complete with pond and ‘goldfish’.
“The weather was kind to us so everyone was able to enjoy the sunshine whilst sitting outside with hot dogs and afternoon teas and cake.
“Thank you very much to all our supporters in Burton Green and the surrounding area.”
