Walkers have raised almost £2,000 in memory of a dear friend after trekking 28 miles across Warwickshire’s villages.
Peter Herd and Malcolm Doughty a completed the Arden Way walk in nine hours - all in memory of friend, Rod Macdonald who died in 2013 after suffering from ‘debilitating’ motor neurone disease.
Malcolm, who lies at Park Hill, said it was an ideal way to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association which helped Ron when the condition hit in 2012.
“To see someone deteriorate so fast from such an active life was quite distressing and any money that can be raised will hopefully will lead to new understanding and treatments,” he said.
