Eleven people in Warwickshire - many of whom have access to children - have been arrested as part of national operation in which 660 have been detained and questioned about sharing indecent images of children online.

Warwickshire’s force worked with the National Crime Agency to investigate suspected paedophiles who are using the internet. Officers say that 31 children have been “protected from harm” in the Warwickshire and West Mercia areas.

Detective Superintendent Steve Cullen, who coordinated the investigations in the West Midlands, said: “We still have a lot of work to do to assess what offences have been committed and, where we have sufficient evidence, to charge those we have arrested.”
