The woman, along with another casualty, was rushed to hospital but the extent of the injuries is not yet known.

Police are now warning drivers to avoid the area after road closures and a traffic build-up back onto the M40.

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: “The M40 junction 14 southbound exit sliproad is currently closed and traffic is building up in the area.

“We would advise motorists to consider alternative routes and we will update when more information is available.”
