Lights off on the roads are a good idea

I read with interest the aticle “Are street lights needed” Officials believe that crime levels would drop. Why should they? because criminals can’t see what they are doing?

One of the biggest carbon emission savings and budget achievers would be to switch lights off on motorways and dual carriageways, cat’s eyes don’t need energy.

Lights off in residential areas would, I believe, increase the opportunist criminal and make all vunerable people in our community live in fear when night falls. - Rebecca Woodbine-Cusdin, Guy’s Cliffe Terrace, Warwick.
