Don’t be put off owning a Staffie

After reading the article published last week in the Kenilworth Weekly News about the Staffordshire bull terrier which attacked the young boy, I felt I must write in to defend the dogs.

I felt the article showed the dogs in a bad light and I wanted to say I have two of my own, which are rescue dogs, and they are lovely dogs. Many of these dogs get put down every week and the RSPCA in Coventry, which I support a lot, is full of these dogs - every other one is a Staffordshire bull terrier.

I just wanted to say this article shouldn’t put people off them as they are lovely dogs if they have a good owner. I’d also like to remind people not to leave dogs in cars in this weather. - John Meek, Kenilworth.
