Head down to Hill Close in Warwick for a teddy bear’s picnic

If you go down to Hill Close Gardens in Warwick on Thursday, you could be in for a big surprise, says the trust that runs the attraction in Bread and Meat Close.

Visitors are being invited to bring in their old teddy bears - and the most “vintage” teddy bear owner will win an afternoon tea at the site’s Lammas Room cafe, which will be open for all during the afternoon.

There will be other competitions including the ‘best dressed gardener teddy’ and the ‘bear who looks most like its owner’, as well as a retro ice cream van, honeypot hunts, a teddy-themed obstacle course and storytelling sessions. Visitors are encouraged to bring picnics.

The event runs from 2pm to 4pm. Entry costs £3.50 and £1 for every two adults accompanying a child. For further details, call 493339 or visit www.hillclosegardens.com
