Town’s success stops parking fees rising

PARKING fees in Kenilworth will remain frozen for the third year in a row thanks to the amount of people flocking to the town and using the car parks.

Town councillors are celebrating what they have described as “a record” third year prize freeze which was announced by officers from Warwick District Council at their last meeting.

Officer Gary Charlton said that due to the success of the car parks over the last two years, prices will not increase in April 2013.

He said: “They are all doing very, very well which is why we do not need to put the charges up. A lot of people are coming to the town and that is very encouraging to hear.”

Cllr Michael Coker said: “This must be a record and is fantastic news as it means people are regularly visiting the town and shops.”
