A businessman and an installation company from Leamington are waiting to find out if they have won top prizes at the Midlands Business Awards.
Peter O’Brien, MD of O’Brien Contractors, is a finalist in the Midlands Entrepreneur of the Year category, while RMF Installation and Services in Harbury Lane, Leamington,has been named in the shortlist for Midlands Innovation of the Year category of the awards which will be presented at a gala ceremony on Friday February 28 at the NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel.
O’Brien, which was established 50 years ago, is a specialist civil engineering and groundworks contractor and works alongside main contractors on building projects.
Recently-completed jobs include the new West Midlands Ambulance Service headquarters in Warwick.
RMF Installation and Services in Harbury Lane, Leamington, supplies and installs raised access flooring to the commercial office interior market. It has been operating for 24 years and has developed an eco-range of recycled raised access floors, which it supplied for the Olympic velodrome media centre, using materials that would otherwise go to landfill.
Harj Sandher, of Leamington-based UK Special Events which organises the event, said: “The ingenuity of the participants is often staggering.”
