Briar Hill Infant School in Leamington is outstanding according to Ofsted

The school, in Coppice Road, achieved the highest accolade possible from Ofsted – the government’s school inspection body, following an inspection in February.

Inspectors found outstanding performance at the school in terms of pupil achievement, the quality of teaching, the behaviour and safety of pupils and the overall leadership and management of the school.

The inspection report stated: “Pupils have outstanding attitudes to their learning. Children in the Reception class settle quickly and display a strong sense of enquiry and wonder.

“Pupils in all year groups are confident learners who want to do well and appreciate the help they are given. Relationships between staff and pupils are very positive”

The report cites excellent teaching as a further reason for the school achieving the inspectors’ highest accolade.

Inspectors said: “All groups of pupils make outstanding progress because of the high-quality and well-timed support they receive from their teachers and other adults.”

Bryony Meek, the school’s acting headteacher, said: “I am extremely proud of all the children and the very hard-working, dedicated staff who have achieved such a wonderful result in our latest inspection.

“I would like to extend my thanks to the parents, children and staff for their continued support in making the School such an Outstanding place to both learn and teach.”
