People in Kenilworth, Leamington and Warwick are being urged to Get Active during a packed week of sporting events later this month.
Sports clubs, leisure centres and community groups will all be getting involved in Get Active Week, which is aimed at promoting sport and physical activity throughout the area. It runs from June 27 until July 5 – coinciding with National School Sport
Week.

Now in its second year, Get Active Week is again being organised by Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Sport in conjunction with the sub-region's local authorities and aims to provide everyone with the chance to try new activities and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

A whole host of activities are scheduled to take place in the towns – some of which are free to take part in. They include basketball, Thai boxing, bowls, golf pitch and putt and walking.

Tracy Murphy, from Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Sport, said the emphasis of the activities will be on fun and is confident the week will prove to be popular.

"Get Active Week gives everyone the chance to try something new to help them stay active and enjoy all the benefits of an active lifestyle.

"Activity should always be exciting, rewarding and challenging, and a range of fun activities have been lined-up for people to try."
