'UNneighbourly' plans to add a single storey extension to a Kenilworth home have been rejected by members of the town council planning commitee.
Plans have been submitted to add an extension to 23, Harlech Close in the town.

The proposals include a single extension for a study/playroom and WC/shower room with entrance formed from the existing kitchen. The existing garage would also be converted to form a new bedroom.

But town councillors have dubbed the plans ‘unneighbourly’ and are worried that the proposals may lower the value of the next door home.

Coun Norman Vincett said: “I am concerned it will create a terraced effect. At the moment the houses are semi-detached and these plans will turn it into a terraced house. I think it could de-value the property and could be detrimental to the street scene.”
