The fate of Crackley Residents Association has been decided.
The association was under threat of folding earlier this month, but following an open meeting a new chairman and secretary have been elected, meaning the group is to carry on.
At an open meeting of more than 30 members, new chairman Ashley Ball, and secretary Nick Hillard were elected.
Mr Ball said: "In uncertain times, I am delighted to step up to the plate and continue the hard work of my predecessors.
"Now more than ever is there a need for proactive community groups looking to preserve and enhance the quality of the areas within which we live."
For more than 20 years, Crackley Residents Association has worked to maintain and improve the quality of Crackley and the surrounding area.
This has been achieved through a valuable partnership between residents, local employers, regulatory authorities and developers.
The membership now extends to more than 100 households in the area.
