Opening any new retail business during a recession is a brave move anyway, but Kenilworth interior designer Jackie Gilling decided to do the thing in style.
She invited Kenilworth carnival queen Kym Bradley to do the honours and cut the ribbon to declare the town's newest shop open.

Kym, 25, officially opened Pepper Black on Warwick Road.

It sells small pieces of furniture, design led products and gifts for the home.

Jackie Gilling has sourced from local suppliers wherever possible to set up the business.

Carnival queen Kym's main task during her year-long reign will be will be to lead this year's procession on Kenilworth carnival day, July 4.
