Bishop Colin's cathedral farewell

Working with "ordinary parishioners" has been just one of the highlights for the Coventry bishop who will retire next month.
The Rt Rev Colin Bennetts is the head of the diocese of Coventry which includes Warwickshire.
He came to the post in 1998 and people can attend an open service at Coventry Cathedral on December 1 to bid him farewell.
Bishop Colin has spoken on a number of issues in the House of Lords including euthanasia, Alzheimer’s disease and the Arab Israeli conflict.
He is married to Stagecoach theatre group education director Veronica and they have four children and six grandchildren.
As well as being active in parliament, Bishop Colin said he has most enjoyed working with regular members of his congregation.
He said: “It has been a huge privilege to meet and worship with ‘ordinary’ parishioners week by week. In the future I would like to see a confident, growing church, inspired by the Gospel, serving the community and not taking itself too seriously.”
