Kenilworth’s 25th bonfire and firework night will be ‘best yet’

TICKETS are now on sale for Kenilworth’s 25th annual bonfire and fireworks night, which is already set to be bigger and better than ever before - thanks to extra fireworks and huge crowds expected.

The spectacular display, organised each year by Kenilworth Round Table, is expected to draw in crowds of over 13,000 people and raise anywhere up to £50,000 for town charities.

The night will kick off in the castle grounds on Saturday November 3 at 5.30pm with the bonfire lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks set off from 7pm.

The event, which usually raises up to £50,000 for local causes and charities, always draws in huge crowds from across the county and keen spectators are being urged to get organised early to make sure they don’t miss out.

Tom Shearer, chair of the Round Table has already set this year’s show up as the biggest and best event yet with even more fireworks packed into the display.

“We are spending even more on fireworks this year with hopes of a 25 minute show to make it really
special,” he said.

“As always, it should be a great evening out for everyone. A massive thank you to the people who will come along on the night to enjoy the show and support our cause – we look forward to seeing you there.”

And he said the fact that all profits from the night go to helping good causes and charities in the community makes it even more important.

Last year the impressive funds were shared among a range of groups and societies in the town including the youth centre, pre-schools, Guides and Scouts and elderly groups. Anyone with a cause worth supporting can contact the Round Table.

The Castle Road entrance will open to the public from 5.30pm and there will be a host of events in the field in the afternoon as part of a free radio roadshow to keep the crowds entertained.

Castle Road will be closed throughout the afternoon and visitors are asked to respect residents when parking and use public transport where possible. Tickets are now on sale online at
www.kenilworthroundtable.com priced £7 for adults, £3 concessions. Leftovers will be sold on the gate for £10 or £5 concessions.

No entry without a valid ticket. Tickets can be bought in September as part of a meal for four at the Queen and Castle pub and one
customer will be picked for a top prize.
