Convicted Leamington thief jailed for stealing again
STEALING a Sat Nav and other items from cars while serving a suspended sentence for theft has landed a Leamington man a 16-week jail sentence.
Neil Crossley, of High Street, pleaded guilty to charges of theft from a car at a hearing at Leamington magistrates on Tuesday.
He had stolen the Sat Nav from a car in Lillington Road in Leamington on January 12 and two mobiles phone and a wallet from a car outside Costcutters in High Street on February 10.
Crossley committed these offences while serving a 16-week suspended prison sentence for stealing an item of clothing from a store and meat from a supermarket. Magistrates enforced the suspended sentence and he was sent to prison for 16 weeks.
Pc Paul-Lloyd Luke from Warwickshire Police said: “This sentence gives a clear message to criminals thinking of causing the wider community harm that we will catch you and put you before the court.”
