Party-lovers and walking enthusiasts are invited to join in a carnival-like atmosphere at an all-night fundraising event in Stoneleigh Park this summer.
The venue will host this year's Relay for Life for Cancer Research UK and organisers are aiming to beat the total of £30,000 raised in 2007.

Teams are needed to start fundraising campaigns in their communities, which will culminate in an all-night relay around the park on August 16 to 17.

Participants will take turns walking laps with each team keeping at least one member on the track at all times.

Organiser Jeff Reading told the Courier: "Last year's event was a huge success as we had 14 teams taking part and they raised more than £30,000 between them - in spite of the rain.

"We want this year's relay to be bigger and better."

He urged as many people as possible to attend a launch meeting for the event at Cubbington Club on Windmill Hill on March 17 at 7.30pm.
