Vital funds are being raised for South West Uganda's only orphanage by a Leamington woman and her friend.
Janet Johnston, of Cloister Crofts, Leamington, and John Leftley, of Church Road, Wilmcote, are organising a three-mile walk with the aim of raising £10,000 for the Nzirambi Orphans Development Centre.

The money is needed to drill a water bore-hole for the centre, where new facilities are currently being constructed.

Mrs Johnston and Mr Leftley set up a sponsorship scheme to help the orphanage five years ago.

Now all 53 children living there are sponsored by people in the UK.

The fundraising walk will be across the Welcombe Hills in Stratford on May 10 at 2pm.

Anyone interested in taking part or donating money can contact Mrs Johntson on 336136 or Mr Leftley on 01789 415926 or visit the charity's website at www.notdec.org.uk
