In just seven months, the venue has been put on the entertainments map – and credit is due in no small part to Leamington Sight and Sound.

The 11-strong company spent two years working on lights, effects and bespoke systems for the former bingo palace and used some 3.8 miles of cable and 36 moving lights for the project which powered up to a cost of £450,000.

With 25 years of experience, LSS can work on aspects of design, engineering and noise control in all sorts of buildings.

Director Ian Potter said: "A lot of people still have us pigeon-holed as 'disco people', but we're adaptable and are always seeking new markets.

"We think the new technologies we use will solve many problems for many people, individuals, corporate and schools alike.

"I think customers appreciate the fact that they can deal with one company for all three of their needs."

The company has provided lighting and sound systems to pub chains, breweries, shops, restaurants, banks, nightclubs and local authority buildings around the country.

In the past few months the team installed a PA system at Emmanuel church in Heath Terrace, Leamington, which can be removed and taken by choirs and musicians to concerts elsewhere.

Another recent project was providing new facilities for the British Trust of Ornithology's global headquarters in Thetford, which included installing a "right by your side" speech result on every seat in the meeting room - the first of its kind in the UK.

LSS's work can also be seen in Sabai Sabai in Regent Street and Fiery Feet Dance Studio in Windsor Place.

The company, which now features on the website of international technology leader Hitachi, also carries out seminars for local authority staff on control, escape and nuisance with regards to entertainment premises.

Mr Potter said: "We are interested in solving customers' problems - that seems to be why we are securing them.

"We have come into contact with so many people over the years, that if we cannot do it, we know someone who can."
