Trees for town couple

A FORMER town mayor and mayoress could be remembered with memorial trees planted along Albion Street in their memory.

Town and district councillors will consider the proposals over the next few weeks.

And if supported the area by where the former town mayor was born could be adorned with trees to restore the now bare land to how it would have looked at the time he was a child.

Town and district councillor, Richard Davies, who will out the proposal to members, said as Mr Bastock was a keen gardener, what better way to honour his memory and bring pleasure to current residents.

The couple’s joint funeral in the town was attended by hundreds of friends, former colleagues and councillors who came out to pay respects.
