KENILWORTH has sent a unique and special message to the Queen to congratulate her on 60 years as monarch and wish her well in her Jubilee year.
Town councillor David Shilton and lay minister Anne Werrell presented the book containing thousands of signatures and messages of support from across the town to the Queen’s clerk at Buckingham Palace.
They are now eagerly waiting an acknowledgement from Her Majesty upon her return to the palace which they can pass on to the town. Following the pair’s “unforgettable” trip to the palace to deliver the signatures, Mr Shilton said the project’s success was all thanks to the dedication and hard work of Anne -who dreamt up the idea- and the people of Kenilworth. “It is a message of goodwill from the people of Kenilworth young and old to congratulate Her Majesty on her 60 years on the throne,” he added. “We are the only town to do have ever done anything like this and that only makes it even more special so thank you to everyone who got involved.”
