GREEN-fingered pupils have passed down their growing skills after handing over apple trees to younger children to help increase orchards and help rare fruit varieties thrive.
Keen Kenilworth School pupils donated a selection tress grown at their Community Orchard on Leyes Lane to town primary schools to help them develop similar schemes and increase the number of apples grown in the town.
They also hope the move will give the UK’s endangered habitats a boost and spread the word about local produce.
The apple trees were handed over at a special ceremony as well as advice on care and maintenance on how to nurture the Wyken Pippin, Elizabeth Annie and Shakespeare varieties.
