Help pouring in for Kurt
Kurt Shead from Kenilworth who is appealing for repairs to his electric wheelchair.
A DISABLED Kenilworth man has expressed his delight and appreciation after “overwhelming support” from local people to help repair or replace his electric wheelchair.
Kurt Shead who suffers from cerebral palsy said he is absolutely stunned by the kindness of residents who have come forward with hundreds of pounds of donations.
The 20-year-old was left stranded after his chair broke and he could not leave the house or attend college to study for his A-Levels.
He was left facing a daunting bill of several a several thousand pounds to get his wheels back on the road.
And thanks to the generosity across the town he is well on his way to replacing the chair which he relies upon so heavily.
“It is absolutely amazing, and I really want to say a huge thank you,” he said.
“I am not sure how much I have had in donations but it is several hundred pounds and I am just so happy to be able to get back to normal and live my life again.”
