LEAMINGTON’S Spa Centre was sold out for the switch-on of the town’s Diwali lights on Saturday.
Coventry Bhangra troupe and Sky1 Got To Dance finalists Bhangra Heads, Sikh martial arts group Baba Fateh Singh Gatka Akhara, Bollywood twins Sunny & Shyam and Leamington Bhangra singer Aaron Singh Sidhu entertained crowds celebrating the festival.
The event is hosted by the British Asian Business and Professional Association, which presented a £4,100 cheque to Warwickshire Police Chief Constable Andy Parker for the charity Child Victims of Crime. Organiser Parminder Birdi said the lights did not just celebrate Diwali, but were part of larger celebrations of Christmas and the New Year.
