Champion’s defence course

Balsall Common strong man, Paddy Doyle had developed his own defence course.

The multi Guinness World Records champion used his own experiences to develop the new self defence and protection course which has been accredited by Industry Qualifications (IQ).

The brand new award includes knowledge based content on self defence and the law and an understanding of conflict management, as well as practical self defence skills.

Paddy wrote the original course upon which the qualification is based and it is designed to suit all ages.

“What makes this different is that the teaching is based on genuine experience,” he said.

“I have been in threatening situations, dealing with aggressive behaviour and have had to defend myself on the streets. I have also competed in martial arts so can also pass on my knowledge to others.”
