Scarlet - a band made up of Warwick singer Louise Beddows, her bass-player fiancé Martin Packer, guitarist Chris Beech from Leamington and Coventry drummer Dan Searles - released Come Back on November 11 and the song was played for the first time at the Remembrance Day service at Hatton church.

All proceeds from the sales of the single, which is available to download online on websites including iTunes and Amazon, will go to forces charity Help for Heroes.

The band wrote Come Back in reaction to the controversy surrounding Coventry bar Browns, which had refused to admit soldiers who were attending a funeral.

Miss Beddows said: “There are people other than soldiers who are affected by what happens in war and we wanted to write the lyrics of the song with that in mind.

“There’s a line which says ‘we will both be under the same full moon and even though you are far away I’m still with you’ and the message to soldiers is to stay safe, help others but don’t forget about yourself.”
