MP Jeremy Wright has been presented with a certificate after completing a 12-month Fellowship with the Industry and Parliament Trust.
The trust is a charity dedicated to fostering mutual understanding between the worlds of parliament and industry.

Mr Wright was required to spend 18 days in industry to complete his Fellowship, entitled Farm to Fork, which focused on the food indu
stry.

He spent time with Waitrose, the Co-operative Group, independent farmers in the constituency, Farmers Weekly magazine, the Royal Agricultural Society of England and the NFU.

His experiences included climbing a kipper-smoking chimney at a fish farm, packing meat and herding animals.

The aim of the Fellowship was to explore the relationship between those who produce the food and those who sell it.

Mr Wright said: "I was conscious that there may come a time when we have to legislate on the outcome of the Competition Commission's inquiry into the grocers' market and I wanted a better idea of the issues. I have learnt a huge amount.".

Sally Muggeridge, of the Industry and Parliament Trust said, "The Fellowship programme is a practical way in which the trust seeks to bridge the gap in understanding between the worlds of business and Parliament."
