Celebrating three years of twinning with Bourg-la-Reine

Celebrating three years of twinning. |
In 1986 the third anniversary of Kenilworth’s twinning with Bourg-la-Reine was celebrated when a party from the town visited their French friends.
Town mayor and mayoress Coun Jack Bastock and his wife Muriel headed the group, which included members and friends of Kenilworth Friendship Society.
There was an official reception by the mayor of Bourg-la-Reine, Mr Alfred Nomblot, followed by dinner and dancing.
Among the many events arranged for the Kenilworth party was a wine tasting in an historic property, a visit to an art exhibition at the Ile de France (pictured) and visits to a chateau and hypermarket.
Coun Bastock told his hosts that ties between the two towns were getting stronger and he wanted to see an annual football match between the two towns.
Do you know if this ever happened?
