This is a storm petrel we have rescued. It had been blown ashore by the storms we are having. They usually fly about 200 kilometres offshore searching for food. They are often mistaken for albatrosses. It was very hungry and tired so we put it in a box and have given it to the wildlife officer who will feed it and keep it until it is strong enough to fly on its way again.
