Do you remember when Grindod’s Nurseries and the Cherry Orchard brickyard looked like this?
Farmer Ward Road resident Ted Hatwood found these old photographs among his collection. The first is of the nursery in Whitemoor Road, where his grandmother Lucy worked for 30 years. The second is a shot of the old brickyard in the winter.
Mr Hatwood said: “I think the brickyard closed in the early 1960s but I can’t remember for certain.”
